The Apache Litter
"May beauty surround you in the journey ahead and through all the years, may happiness be your companion and your days be good and long" - (Apache Blessing)This litter, whelped on March 24 2005 produced three girls of which we kept two, Amy and Anvik. Alice (her call name is now Ariel) was placed with future veterinaries Marco and Barbara, who already own two more malamutes.
We were interested in trying this combination because of the way the two pedigrees matched and produced interesting figures and high genetic contribution on some key producer of the past, that were found in both the sire and dam's background. Furthermore the sire and dam's traits complemented each other quite nicely.
After about nine months we can say this was certainly a lucky litter.
On their first show judged by Ms. Nancy Russel, Anvik won the Junior 6-9 Class and Amy placed second. Anvik went on to win the best puppy of breed defeating the male puppy.
Miss Russel commented about Anvik's very nice sidegait and Amy's substance.
Certainly not a bad way to start a show career for our two puppies !
