The Home

Crystal and Teddy playing in the lawn under a heavy snow fall
Our dog facilities consist of two large fenced lawns about 30x20 meters each, where the dogs are free to play and spend the day.
One of the two lawns is immediately adjacent to our home, so we can always keep the dogs under watch and they don't feel lonely.
The two lawns are enclosed in a larger, fenced area.
The 2x5 meters dog pens (where they don't spend much time actually) were built with sandwitched metal/poliuretan panels, so they are very strong, well insulated, easy to clean, and offer good privacy to the occupants.
The gates (purchased from a kennel facilities supplier) are of very strong heavy gauge (4mm) welded mesh, close enough so they can't chew on it and ruin their teeth.
The pens are big enough to accomodate up to three dogs if they get along well with each other (which they do).
At night the dogs are kept indoor, and even during the day they have free access to the house and to the office. Our bitches whelp their litters in our living room, and all our dogs are very clean and well educated just like any family dog should be.
However a malamute is a malamute and we prefer to keep them off the kitchen, especially when there is meat on the kitchen counter (Teddy is a master at making disappear large chunks of meat leaving no trace and keeping a casual and nonchalant attitude before and after the fact....he doesn't even lick his chops.).
Although we can't complain about the current arrangement the space is too limited for our plans, and too near to the village (and the neighbors...), so we have recently bought 20.000 square meters of land, more removed from the village where we are going to establish our new facilities in the next months.
The new property is more than big enough and we are planning to build several large playgrounds and a short training circuit so we don't have to move everyday to reach the area where the dogs are usually trained.
