Grand spring meeting and new unforgettable success for Willow in Cuveglio (VA), where the famous judge, breeder and international expert and author Mrs. Barbara Brooks was invited to judge the Annual Club Meeting and National Specialty, and to held the traditional breed seminar the day before the show together with Ms. J. Mattot, of Sendaishi Kennel, and Dr. L. Salamon of Clone Italy.
The 80 dogs entered were coming from several european countries beside of course all Italy.
Our Willow beside gaining the congratulations of Ms. Brooks won the very crowded female open class, went Best of Winners and earned her fourth CAC (the second in a specialty) so finishing her is now little more than a formality.
Furthermore Willow won again the CIAM Championship (the Junior version of the CIAM Club Championship she had already won last year).
Willow was defeated only by the mature lady Stormy Monday's Master Blaster Jamming owned by dear friend Gabriella Lovati of Grand Jorasses Kennel. Jamie also went BOB and BISS. Congratulation to Lella and to Jamie that retires with this win that tops off a very succesful career
Del Biagio Kennels were present in force and well represented by no less than 15 malamutes in all classes. The best results were obtained in male open and male young class, as Ms. Brooks didn't appreciate the overweight of the dogs in champions class (read interview) won by Athabaska Johnny Walker for the second year in a row. Johnny also went BOS. This boy has some appeal on American judges...!
Also Paha Sapa Kennels were well represented by a great number of young and puppies beside the partecipants in the other classes, and it was this kennel and its Kotzebue stock that went on to win the Best Breeder's Group.
Unfortunately only a few handlers and breeders posed for podium pictures and for this reason we don't have a full photo report of all the dogs.
But we have managed to put together a fair number of pictures of winners and placers of most classes.
